Notes | The Walthers Cornerstone Southtown Hi-Fi kit is based on an actual structure in Lomira, Wisconsin, which was still standing in 2017, this detailed model is typical of converted Quonset huts seen coast to coast. Its small size of just 20 x 48 scale feet makes it an ideal structure for a small space, while the unusual shape and brickwork make it stand out in any business district. Parts for the original "metal" front and rear walls, ideal for a military diorama or war games, are also provided. With period signs, figures and vehicles nearby, it will fit any layout from the late 1940s through the present. Like the prototype, the model includes a fancy brick false-front entrance (when new the actual structure was at the intersection of two major state highways) to draw customers' attention. The rear wall was also reworked with a different door and window arrangement, and parts for a window air conditioner and electric meter are included. The structure also sat on a cement block foundation, which is duplicated for the model. With different types of doors (sold separately) and some minor kitbashing, the basic kit, like the prototypes, can be converted into many other useful structures. Measures: Original 6-9/16 x 2-3/4 x 1-3/8" 16.6 x 6.9 x 3.4cm Brick Storefront: 6-11/16 x 2-13/16" x 2- 16.9 x 7.1 x cm
