A good soldering station with lots of soldering tools.
A digital meter. Spend a little money here if you do lots of automation, lighting and motorizing of your models,
An old computer power supply that I broke out into a plastic box with bananna plugs for different voltages. This allows me to test 12v, 5v and 3v hookups. There are a ton of articles on the web on how to make one of these. Makes a great bench power supply.....and usually free.Also, a standard hobby train power supply with attached aligator clips..
A solder pot makes soldering a lot easier. A cheap ebay purchase.
A butane mini torch for melting, heat shrink and drying.
