Primered the casting and then painted with cheap hobby store paints.

Stained the wood and the dam.

Stained the beaver house.

More stain.

Painted the base with a sandy tan.

Create a form to hold the Beaver pond.

Fill the form with Lightweight Hydrocal. I have never used this before. It may not bet strong enough.

I mixed "Mud" powder coloring to the Hydrocal.

After drying for days, removed the form to allow more drying. I started to realize that the Hydrocal may not be strong enough.

Almost dry.

I coated the Hydrocal with white glue. Lots more drying. All in all, it took about a week for this to dry. Next step was to glue down real dirt with diluted white glue.

Installed a real glass window at one end to allow the zoo patrons to look underwater. Then started adding the stone surround.

More stone walls.

A closeup of the real glass wall.

Completing the stone surround.

Clamps to keep everything in line.

Filling in the edges with real dirst held down with diluted white glue.

Painted the center of the pond to give it depth when the water is poured.

Test fitting the Beaver house.

Final assembly of the walls.

Glued down the Beaver house and fixed more dirst areas that needed work.

Staining the edges with green stain.

Putting a wood header on the view window.
